Marketing Help Please!!!!

Hey guys. I need some fresh ideas for marketing my salon. I'm just doing the same ol' birthday vouchers, loyalty points, etc. Really need some help. Finding time to do it is also a drama - does anyone know of any companies that do this kind of thing? Thanks!!!

Thumbs up

Hi Clay,
The best money we ever spent was on business coaches (dont laugh) we employed two JRB associates (QLD phone coaching) and salon advantage in house coaching......we were taught sooooo much especialy on marketing, staff approach to clients, add on selling + about 10,000 other things we are slowly working through every thing we have lernt.......so far the last 5 mth's we have been doubleing our turnover monthly to the same time last year, we try to practice everthing to achieve a better result.
......Hope this helps.........It helped us...

Regards
Murray

Thats good advice

Clay,
can you tell us a bit more?
How big is the salon, it's position, your market niche, how many new clients do you currently attract, do you have a database etc?

Hey. Our salon has 2 full-time, 1 p/t stylist & apprentice. Located on a shopping strip just outside the city. Have a good client base and want to leverage off that - see if I can get them coming in a bit more often, increase rebookings, etc. Newspaper advertising for new clients has been a bit of a waste of money to date. Might try some more in-store promotions, but don't know where to start (I do have all clients addresses etc). Thanks for all your advice!

Hi Clay,
Try this it works a treat. when you get a new client the girls always get into "so tell me whats been happening in your life" thing if they say "well I,m haveing my hair done for my sisters wedding etc..Note it down on the data base, so when the client returns next time you or staff can say (by checking her appointment details) "so Jill last time you were here, you had your hair done for your sisters wedding, so tell me all obout it" it makes them feel part of the family strait away. After this visit make them an offer they cant fefuse " say Jill I have re booked you for your ....... on the ....... how about I offer you $10 off you next appointment if you can bring in two of you friends at the same time for a colour service" and give her two VIP invites for her to give her friends.

Our BEST marketing tool is a large black board on the road side that say's ..........20 BLONDE FOIL'S from $40.00 premium product used... we get several walkin's a day + phone in's.......with this our from$40 special generates between $150. to $350. per client it's all about upsell product and staff that realy believe in what thay are doing we have never had a client say "BUT YOUR SIGN SAY'S $40."

With every new client we send a letter saying Thak you for choosing Dyenamic hair and beauty studio as you prefered hair salon, etc etc etc, and at the end we give them a $10. off voucher for there next hair service.
This brings them back for there second visit and when you have finished their hair, say "I'm just re-booking you for next time where you will be elagable for our special VIP club membership.

Hope it helps
Regards
Murray.
