The new education media

We're really interested in new ways of delivering education. Particularly via the Internet. Vivienne McKinder is leading the way with Hair Designer Tv and her special event Webcasts.

This is actually the direction www.prohairstylist.com.au will be taking in the near future.

How does everyone think on this ? Is the Internet the next educational must have in salon? Or is it already there and what we need is more quality content for hairdressers?

chrispir is on a distinguished road
love your work

Currently I am studying a Bachelor of Education and I am really starting to see the education revolution. We have all this wonderful technology at our disposal and when it is used constructively, technology can have a real impact on the way we teach. I definitely believe that using this technology is the way of the future and it can have enormous benefits. From Podcasts, to I tunes U, and video sites such as youtube or Teacher’s TV Australia and Wiki’s and forums to name just a few ways that schools, universities and tafe’ providers are beginning to use ICT. I heard of one tafe’ provider that have students film themselves while undertaking a task and these students talk through what they were doing and why they were doing things a certain way. This same intuition would also send bits of information to an internet site so students could access this information onsite via their phones (all students were set up with an account before hand). I think what you do right now with this site is fantastic as it provides people who access this site ways of communicating and learning about hairdressing from others, this information could of just been written up for everyone to read but this can be boring and does not cater to the different learning styles of all, I can’t wait to see what is next for this site.
