Brain Storm - Team Leadership Tips

So our topic for the week is - tips on team leadership

We've all been there, trying to lead a team of hairdressers that really don't want to lead.
How do you delegate?
Keep your cool?
Satisfy stylists, clients & owners whilst staying sane?
Motivate without alienating?

Oh the list is endless!

Share your best tips with us all

Well...We believe that we don't ask any more of our staff than what we do ourselves (but end up doing 10 times the amount) .I know MOST staff are only working in our salon for the benifit of themselves, (they like the fringe benifits) don't get me wrong they are a good team but complacency plays a big part when we don't continuiously remind them of daily figures & min target's. They know it's our salon we pay the bills/wages etc they know if the money dosn't come in it's not their lively hoods on the line. So we alway's try to have bonus promo's for staff & giveaway's. instore training on customer relations and basicly try to keep a fun atmosphere in the salon.....Yes sometimes I get cranky when we have a slow day or when I see a client begging to spend more money and the staff member not picking up the vibe, but I feel Dana & myself are very fair employers, we have a lot to offer our staff but we also expect the best in return (after all we employ professional's!)

This could go on for eva!
Find a brick wall and bang your head, just kidding!!!
Salon leadership is very important!
The biggest thing I have learnt in this role is if you make mistake, learn from it!
Are leaders born or made?
