hairware fusion ripoff

Does anyone have hairware? What do you think of the membership to the new "fusion" offer.
It seems a rip off to me as they are charging nearly $800 for the update with "extras" which was $500 last year.
I already have the marketing letters and I may not want to go to any of the seminars but cannot buy the update alone. This does not seem right. It makes running my wages through hairware inneffective and the support that is included in the "membership" I already have with my lease ,so I am paying twice for the same thing (which is a joke anyway as it takes at least a day for someone to get back to me when I do have a problem)
NOT HAPPY JAN

I contacted Hairware for my salon. That was several months ago now, about 4 I think. I am STILL waiting for someone to get back to me about it.......

As you can guess I DIDN'T choose them as my software provider.

ouch, thats a big increase!
Can your negotiate with them or not? Write an email or letter?
Maybe time for a change?
We use shortcuts, they are great but with 3 salons getting very expensive. We have researched change but we do not want to lose our data base of 6,000 clients.
What features do you use most with the system?
good luck!
Feel free to vent more and welcome to the site
Cheers Belle

Sounds crap to me too

We do have Shortcuts as Belle said but to tell the truth they can be pretty cheeky too - actually they can be downright arrogant now that i think of it.

We recently bought a salon that had been silly enough to buy the software and hardware package outright. By memory it cost them in excess of $8K. When i contacted Shortcuts to inform them of the ownership they told me that I did not own the product (even if the poor previous owner had paid for it). In fact since i was using the software as we spoke i was actually breaking the law in their eyes - can you follow this?
So we were told that indeed to use the product at all we would need to buy Surebiz support from them at over $100 per month.

How's that? You buy the product and you don't own it or get to use it!
So anybody that is thinking of buying Shortcuts - don't. Lease it instead it's better cash flow and more tax efficient.
There service via Surebiz is good though i must say. The program is still super-buggy though so support does need to be good i guess.

ps: lots of Software companies/reps read this forum. So bag them out all you like. Or praise the good ones. There's nothing like happy or unhappy clients talking it up publicly to get some action going. Afterall we all live or die by our clients - why should salon software venders be any different?

We use salon Iris even though its not as advanced as the other big names (and dosn't use pretty colours), it is more than sufficient to run a professional salon, it has everything we need on it + some, but without the rediculouse price tag,

Murray

After searching high and low for something low cost (or free) and easy to use I settled on Salon Iris too. I pay $39 a month for the next two years then I own it. Yes I was too lousy to pay the $699 up front.

Once you own it, do you still have to pay anything?

Wow! i had never heard of salon iris! thats sooo cheap.

we have had both shortcuts & Hairware come into the salon in the last 2 weeks for demos..

being its not my salon i don't get to make the decisions.. i will have to let them know about this salon iris.

Are the reps reliable?

Have you had any **** ups with the computers?

does it come with the computer & till or do you have to buy that yourself?
