Home hairdressing

There is nothing more frustrating as a professional hairdresser and salon owner to have staff back doing hair at home!
Any thoughts?

Are staff leaving to work from home or running a business on the side?

Nah.

But we heard a statistic that said there was 6 home operators for every 1 salon.
That's not good.
Why?

Home operators don't train apprentices, they undercut salon prices, they don't pay tax, workcover, insurances etc.

I don't mean to rag on them too much but they really make our industry look bad.

How many other professions have this type of cowboy operators dragging them down? Accountants, doctors, lawyers, dentists, nurses etc are respected professionals because they behave in a professional way.

Who would would trust a dentist that'll pop around to your house after hours and do you for a bout half of the normal cost?
I know i wouldn't!
