Spring Fashion Week - any $$ for the stylist?

Hey just did some styling for Kevin Murphy at fashion week last week. How great to be a part of such a massive event!
But i do have to say, why is it the hairdressers are always the volunteers??!! We seem to have to do so much for nothing to get anywhere in this industry. Models get paid at least $200 an hour (i've researched that!), the designers get something, the photographers get paid, the sound guys etc etc.
Anyone know if its the same for makeup artists? i didn't get a chance to ask them.

Thats a curly one and a topic that needs airing.

I have a similiar view. Who else has something to say about the current 'work for free, it's an opportunity' sales pitch?
