Hairdressing, the workplace and the environment

Thought this would be a great way to share some info on things we can do in the work place to help the environment.

Use paper bags for retail sales
Make sure you utilize recycling bins in salon
energy saving light globes
Turn all appliances off at the wall

Got anymore????

Rinse tint bowls and brushes only after having soaked them for 20 mins or so.

Only wash towels when you have a full load.

Only use the drier until the towels are dry, not for the whole cycle if not needed.

We use clothes racks to partially dry our towels before turning on the dryer. Saves a heap of carbon

Clients always ask me and i'm not sure of the answer. With the current water situation, what kind of restrictions does a salon have?
