Hair Color Skin Reactions?

Just the other day a staff member did a color service that resulted in a relatively major skin reaction.
I do not blame the color company or color brand or the stylist it is just 1 of those things that happen.
It got me thinking about when I was i nth UK 2 years ago and I wanted to have a color at a top english salon on the spare of the moment! just 1 of those occasions when you want it now.
they had time but refused until I had a skin patch test and came back in 24 hours.
Is this the way we should go to protect our clients and ourselves?
How realistic is this? (Really)
??????
What do others do to prevent colour skin reactions?

This is one of the reasons that public liability insurance is so high. To cover for these kinds of things...

I think it would be a good idea though to have clients receiving chemical services for the first with their client cards fill out a disclaimer.

We have a client who travels from Southerland every 5-6 weeks to see us (2 & bit hour drive away) she has to choose perectly what time of the month to come, because a couple of days either side and her hormones are over the top and she breaks out in a massive red rash all over (it's a noted medicial condition though) but she keep histermines with her incase she has made a mistake on what day she re-booked for....but she loves us.

We had a client (friend of one of the girls) have a reaction to on scalp bleach.. she got really hot, went all red and her heart rate went up & stuff... luckily we have a doctors surgery right next door so they came round and gave her an adrenaline needle.

She now has her hair done a little darker with a tint & she doesn't react to that... she always brings tablets now though.

i wasn't there the day she had the reaction. that would have been way scary!
