Learning from mistakes

We all make mistakes when coloring hair and at work in general, but its what we learn from the mistakes that counts.

Just yesterday we had a problem in our salon with red and blond foils. Sloppy basin work lead to pink hair that was suppose to be blond!

Holly crap!

Next time, rinse red foils first, quickly with luke warm water. If you have allot of red foils rinse a few at a time. Only once all the red has rinsed clear take the blond out. Good idea to use a color lock treatment as well.

What is the worst mistake that has happened in your salon? and what did you do about it?

PROBLEM

when i was a second year i did the same as above but worse u know the tragic top deck n1 inderneath and platinum blonde on top or course i didnt shampoo the bottom correctly and yes the whole blonde turned electric blue.

SOLUTION
as for this as well as red and blonde or and contrasting colours

obviously rinse the darker and or brighter colour first and shampoo min of 2 time and rinse till watter rins clear as well a applying a colour lock treatment

this is trhe best bit i learnt this form a educational dvd i watched that i brought off ebay

the key is to rinse the hair with cool water as cold as you can as this closes the cuticle i swear by it it WORKS A BREEZE but only once the darker colour is rinsed

as for the client being a bit uncomfortable just let them know the reason just think would u prefer a cold scalp of pink or blue hair?

to finish do a treatment a 3 min massage and a hot towel this will warm em up try it i swear by it

xxx

great advice!

How about this 1

The other day in our salon, 40 degree day outside and pretty darn hot inside. Anyways full head foils of bleach. Being so hot it was a good idea to rinse the first half out when finished because the heat made it ready.
The wash out was quick, poor basin work and not through leaving hair wet and with unwashed bleach roaming around. Back to the seat the client went with the other half to process.
The result was the water and not washed out lightner went to work lightning the hair to a nice orange!

Holly crap! Not a good look!

To fix we reverce foiled with 7 level.

poor client!

But we learnt about correct foil bleach removal!

And lets not ever get 01 and 10 mixed up when coloring!
It has happened!

this happened again today but not as noticable i seriously thought all the color was gone but that damn mixplus sticks to the scalp something chronic and even after a scalp cleansing ritual the foam was still pink

It is hard, but not impossible.
But to make life easy and prevent this common bug up, Maybe we should ban mix plus as a base or foils along side blond.
That would work!
Cheers
