Exclamation Bad hair colors!!

Have you ever experienced a terrible effect after a colour, on either yourself or a client???
Lets imagine your a client, or yourself for that matter and have descovered a Irritation or abnomality.... What would you do or have you done??? Come on people lets all be truthful now... Cause I have!!

  1. After effects..
  2. During colouring..
  3. Permanent effects
  4. Home colour effects needing attention..

Realistically I think it is time to introduce compulsory patch testing for all new clients in my salon.

Last August when visiting the UK I walked into a salon and wanted a cut and color. They said they could cut my hair today but could only offer me a patch test for color and an appointment the following day.
I was a bit put out to start with, but when I thought about it, it made sense! we need to protect our clients and ourselves from all liabilities.

Bring in the patch tests!

Cheers

Colour sensitivities can be really bad.
Unfortunately we're all to blame though.
Sloppy application with colour all over the face & neck, no patch test, poor colour removal, lack of anti-oxidizing cleansers at the basins, over processing, incorrect mixation, etc etc.
We all learn it - but how many of us are super strict with this stuff?

On the really bad news side, these things tend to build up in the individual. For some they eventually can't tolerate colour on the skin at all. Imagine a life without colouring your hair ever again!

i think people are getting to comfy with the idea of coloring, just applying and then heading off thinking its going to go all well and good, because i guess it is the 200th time they have done a color.... wrong, remember, every 1 is different and clients skin and product changes, just because you have had color in the past, whos to say its the same

This situation always makes me think of how some people think essential oils are safe because they are natural....silly.
