Schwartskoph GLATT-Been around for eva, stinky, dangerous if applied to scalp but great fast basin straightening for the short hair man.

Bio Ionic, great straightening product but to much messing around just for short man.

Treat straightening products with allot of care and read instructions carefully.

What type of hair?

Hope this helps

I use Maintamer from ISO. Excellent product easy to apply and works very quickly.

Never heard of that one.

Can you tell me a bit about it? Procesing, neutralizing, condition etc?
Where do you get it & what does it cost?

The ISO Maintamer Straightening System is a 2 step straightener or Re- texturizer. Ideal for smoothing coarse hair, taming unruly curls and waves, unperming ends and controlling frizzy hair. It contains Isoamine (cystamine based compound), which alters the pattern of naturally curly or previously permed hair. It softens the hair for increased smoothness and manageability. It can be used on normal hair, previously permed hair, tinted hair (up to 20 volume) or lightly high-lighted hair (up to 40%). Not for use on hair previously treated with lye (any hydroxide) relaxers, henna and acid colors.

The benefits of Maintamer:
  • Thio-free
  • Lye-free
  • Isoamine technology
  • Virtually Damage-free
  • Frizz-free
  • Unsurpassed smoothness and manageability
  • Superior conditioning
  • Added shine and protection
  • Great on virgin and tinted hair
Cost is around the $24 per pack which is enough to relax shoulder length, medium thickness hair. Or in the case of guys you could probably do 3-4 heads no trouble. You can purchase Maintamer from Salon Support or they may have a distributor closer to you anyway give them a call on 1800 111 770 please tell them that Anthony from "SnipCut" recommended you!

Cool

Whats the hair texture like afterwards?
Bio straightners give a really nice result, does this one do something similar?
It's a cold process (no irons)?

Hair is in very good shape afterwards, which is something that I don't often find with other brands. As far as straightening, the results are about 80% of what you get with TR (Iron Straigtening) which is pretty good. Hair is shiny and soft, I use it on women (or men) with that pubic hair type. You know what I mean fuzzy curly wavy hair that feels coarse. I only leave for 5 minutes and then rinse, it slightly reduces curl but still keeps nice waves, but compacts the cuticle to make the hair softer shinier and smoother and of course easier to manage.

I charge $100 for short/medium hair for this kind of treatment, and they usually get 3-5 months from it depending on cutting, and it literally takes 10 minutes more on the hair cut time to perform.

I don't know what you call a lot.

We do 2 - 3 relaxers with maintamer a month and probably 1 -2 TR's per month. The TR's average price is $600 - $700 so there are not as many takers for that service. And really if they are just looking for a retexurising of the hair then maintamer takes care of that nicely.

Oh I forgot to mention, for tight curls you can use maintamer to relax the hair then wind it on very large magnetic rollers and nutrilize to give a soft, controlled wave to the hair. I don't do this a lot, but if you have a large islander or aboriginal population that don't neccessarly want straight hair but something soft and wavey that you can't get with a perm because it is too tight a result.
