Dress up days

Sometimes in the salon we have fun, crazy dress-up days on saturdays. We pick a theme, op shop, uniform day,60's, things like that. We've had appearences by Madonna, Auzzie Osbourne, Gwen steffani, farmers, McDonalds staff and funniest of all one af the gals came as a pink pig! All the clients get to vote on the best dressed, in a secret ballat box , and a prize is awarded at he end of the day. We have a ball and so do the clients, creats a real buzz and refreshens the salon staff morell . dose anybody do anything like this? Give it a go, so much fun!

That does sound fun, and would be great for morale, but does it cause any problems?
Do you have to have guidelines as to what your staff come as? Do any of your customers get offended? Do you have any problems with some staff not wanting to participate and how do you counter that?
I like the idea of getting your clients involved and getting them to pick the winner. It woudl be refreshing to the customers. Have some of the customers caught on and now because of that, specifically book appointments on the day they know will be a dress up day?
Great idea to enlighten everyones day! Just might have to trial that one.

Hey trace, not really a prob getting staff involved as the winning prize is usually cash! I make the staff in charge of organising the day, letting them pick the theme, making the voteing cards, making the ballot . The winner of the day gets to pick the next them and orgainise it.
It creates a buz in the salon in the lead up so we often find clients popping in for a peak at the dress up on the saturdays.
Give it a try but make the staff incharge if the day, give them all a job to orgainse

This sounds reallly fun! i must try it! it would really put a spark into peoples days

wat can you dress up as like do you have a theme as in 80s, animals etc..or can you all just dress up different like a nurse, an animal, a fruit etc haha

I think we are a bit overdue for a dress up day. Last years christmas theme was great. Who wants to choose the theme this time??
