Male hairdresser

I've always wanted to get into hairdressing, but have always been self-conscience about the image of male hairdressers (childish I know). Has anyone else had these feelings and how do people react when you say that you are a hairdresser.

I get your drift but you can not live your life worring about what other people think!
Think, Vidal Sasson, Edward Beal, Oscar Cullanin, Bennie Tognini etc, do your research on the industry and you will be totally inspired on the Positive Male role models and mentors you can find!
Follow your dreams, find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life!

my wife & I have a friend you may of heard of him "Dario Contronio" one of Australia's leading celebrity stylist's this man charges $425 for a standard cut and 40 min's of his time, Dario is married with a daughter, with his credibility and the money he makes he dosn't see a problem with it.

But I do know where your coming from ,I went from being a mechanic and a bouncer/security officer of 20 years to owning 2 salons with my wife I'm ashamed to say when when we first got into the business I was embarressed to say I was now in the hairdressing industry, but I now love it, I love being around the client's and every thing to do with the industry it's like a whole new life.
